COMMENT:
In the upper right corner of the screen you can see the Logo of Radio Bremen, which produced Beat Club and Musikladen in the sixties and seventies. A few weeks ago, they aired a special show, which contained all the Beatles films, which were shown on Beat Club in the sixties.
Surprisingly the set is almost entirely in b&w, only Let It Be is in color. Guess they wanted to keep the 60's broadcast spirit, however these appear to be in wide screen format(!). Thanks to the wide screen format there is a short segment on screen during Day Tripper that I've never seen in the 4:3 format before.
The best quality of the b&w Rain / Paperback Writer I've seen. The songs are segued together making for a seamless and enjoyable hour of Beatles viewing but does cut some of the beginnings and endings in the fades.

HOW THE BEATLES ROCKED THE KREMLIN
A BBC4 DOCUMENTARY 2009

Storyville - How The Beatles Rocked The Kremlin
Sunday, 6th September 2009
8pm to 9pm
BBC4
In August 1962, director Leslie Woodhead made a two-minute film in Liverpool's Cavern Club with a raw and unrecorded group of rockers called the Beatles. He went on to arrange their first live TV appearances on a local show in Manchester, and watched as the Fab Four phenomenon swept the world.
Twenty-five years later while making films in Russia, Woodhead became aware of how, even though they were never able to play in the Soviet Union, the Beatles' legend had soaked into the lives of a generation of kids. This film meets the Soviet Beatles generation and hears their stories about how the Fab Four changed their lives, including Putin's deputy premier Sergei Ivanov, who explains how the Beatles helped him learn English and showed him another life. The Soviet authorities were alarmed by the seditious potential of rock and roll, with the Beatles a special target and denounced as 'bugs' in official papers. Their smuggled records were destroyed and their music was banned, but the myth blossomed as bootlegs and photos were covertly traded and even rented amongst fans.
Soon there were thousands of rock bands across the USSR, trying to make music with crude home-made guitars. Speakers on lampposts installed to broadcast propaganda were grabbed by rock hopefuls, while reports that an electric pickup could be cannibalised from a telephone led to phone boxes being raided and disabled. Millions of young people fell in love with the Beatles and the culture of the Cold War enemy, and defected emotionally from the Soviet system. The Beatles prepared the cultural way for the fall of the Berlin Wall and ultimately helped to wash away the foundations of that system.

De documentaire ‘How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin’ laat zien hoe de Beatlemania in
saai leven.” (Joeri Peljoesjonok).
Regisseur Leslie Woodhead (‘A Cry from the Grave’) maakte in 1962 het eerste filmpje van

THE BEATLES AT THE PALACE (VERSIONS 1-3)Chapters 26-28
26/10/1965 - Buckingham Palace, London. The Beatles were invested with their MBEs. The Beatles arrived at Buckingham Palace in John's Rolls Royce in time for the 11am honours ceremony in the Great Throne Room. Wearing dark suits and ties, they stood in a row
while the Queen pinned the medals to the narrow lapels of their jackets.
The Beatles were awarded the MBE, the lowest of the five divisions of the order, for service to their country. It ranks 120th of the 126 titles of precedence and is the most widely given honour. Outside, 4,000 Beatles fans chanted "Yeah, yeah, yeah" and jostled with police who managed to hold them back, but could not prevent them climbing the gates and lamp-posts outside the palace.

ROCKBAND - THE VIDEO'S (VH1 CLASSIC) (NTSC)
TV Broadcasted: August 2009

SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA.ORG
The Beatles: Rock Band is a music video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems, published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts. It is the third major console release in the Rock Band music video game series and, like other games in the series, it allows players to simulate the playing of rock music by using controllers shaped like musical instruments. The game's soundtrack consists of 45 songs by popular British rock group The Beatles and features virtual depictions of the band members performing the songs. Additional songs and albums by The Beatles were made available for the game as downloadable content.

The game was released internationally on 9 September 2009, coinciding with the release of new, remastered compact disc versions of The Beatles albums. It incorporates many of the gameplay features of the Rock Band series; however, it is not an expansion pack for the Rock Band series and content for it and other Rock Band titles is not cross-compatible. Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos described the game as "... a new, full game title production built from the ground up."[1] Gameplay mechanics differ slightly from previous Rock Band games, including the addition of a three-part vocal harmony system.
The game was developed with the blessing and critical input of Apple Corps, including former Beatles members Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. George Harrison's son Dhani helped to bridge discussion between Harmonix and Apple Corps, while Giles Martin, son of The Beatles' music producer George Martin, ensured high-quality versions of The Beatles' songs would be available.
The Beatles: Rock Band was well-received by the press, both as a genuine means of experiencing the music and history of The Beatles and as a standalone music video game. Although the game's sales were considered respectable, with more than half a million units sold during its first month of release in the United States, analysts had projected larger sales volumes and attributed the lower sales to waning interest in the rhythm game genre and the video game industry recovery from the late-2000s recession.

(*) From BIG NIGHT OUT 1964 Television

Apparently "Television Nine", a Canadian TV station, had gotten the rights to broadcast the Beatles appearance on Big Night Out from Feburary 1964.
The hack job (the addition of U.S. acts and the addition of a host, Windsor/Detroit TV personaily Robin Seymour) turned this into a unique bit of pop history.
The Big Night Out segments are unique as they are direct videotape, not a kinescope, and have no timecode. The quality is not great, as the transfer from PAL to NTSC probably was done poorly. The quality of this piece is great though, as can be seen by the added segments.

THE ET BEATLES SPECIAL (NTSC)
Last weekend’s edition of Entertainment Tonight devoted their entire one hour program to The Beatles.  ET is a Hollywood style news magazine.  It features host Mary Hart with exclusive interviews with Paul, Ringo and the widows of John and George.  I’m “Old School” when it comes to this type of thing.  It was broadcast in my area and I videotaped this on my JVC VCR using Sony Pro-V VHS videotape.  I made this DVD using Nerovision 5.  It turned out pretty well but there is a noticeable bit of hiss on the audio but I don’t think it will detract from your overall enjoyment of this program.

THE END 1969-70

1 Festival di Sanremo 1st February 1969 - Mary Hopkin sings her release of "Lontano Dagli Occhi" in Italian 2:59
2 Goodbye Released 28th March 1969 - This is a Mary Hopkin performance.
Seems to be from "Beat Club News" and is a promo featuring Paul. Tony Bramwell of Apple attended the recording session and filmed some of it on 16mm film to be used as as a promo. This is it, showing Paul and Mary talking and working - not miming. Although it is in black-and-white, the bits with Paul are repeated briefly in colour at the end.
It was never shown on British T.V. 2:20
3 Goodbye 25th May 1969 - Mary Hopkin on the Ed Sullivan Show (Colour) 2:41
4 George Gets Busted Silent Newsreel Footage - Extremely brief !
12th March 1969 - George and Patti arrived late at Paul's wedding reception because the notorious Sergeant Pilcher chose Paul's wedding day to raid George's house for drugs, bringing a large piece of hashish with them (in case they didn't find anything) which they then "found" on the floor. They were taken to Esher Police Station and formally charged with possession of cannabis resin. Pilcher was found guilty of police corruption in October 1972 and jailed for 6 years. 0:08
5 Paul Marries Linda Newsreel Footage - Different sources spliced together. Some are silent, some in colour, some the same but with different language voice-overs. A Mess.
12th March 1969 - Paul and Linda were married at Marylebone Register Office, with his brother Michael and roadie Mal Evans as witnesses. Afterwards they went to St John's Wood Church where their marriage was blessed by the Rev. Noel Perry-Gore. There was a luncheon reception afterwards at the Ritz Hotel attended by Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon. None of the other Beatles attended the wedding. 10:41
6 Paul at London Airport Interview with Paul and Linda 167th March 1969 - Paul and Linda with Heather flew to New York to spend three weeks with her family. 1:05
7 John Marries Yoko Newsreel Footage 20th March 1969 - John and Yoko, still in Paris, had tried to get married on the cross-channel ferry but were refused permission to board The Dragon at Southampton because of "inconsistencies in their passports". Peter Brown at Apple found that they could get married on the British-governed island of Gibraltar. John, Yoko, Peter Brown and official photographer David Nutter flew to Gibraltar by private jet. They arrived at 8.30am and were at the British Consulate when it opened at 9am. There, registrar Cecil Wheeler married them with Peter Brown and David Nutter as their witnesses. They remained in Gibraltar for just 70 minutes before flying straight back to Paris and their luxury suite. 0:56
8 John in Amsterdam Newsreel Footage 25th March 1969 - John and Yoko flew to Amsterdam to begin a seven-day peace bed-in in room 902 of the Hilton Hotel. 1:27
9 George After Court Newsreel Footage - Silent and extremely brief 31st March 1969 - George and Patti were found guilty of possession of cannabis at Esher and Walton Magistrates' Court and were each fined £250 with ten guineas costs. 0:07
10 John at London Airport   John and Yoko - Newsreel Footage, initially silent, then some interview 1st April 1969 - John and Yoko returned to London and gave a press conference at Heathrow. 1:28

15 Ringo in Southampton Ringo with Peter Sellers - Newsreel Footage 16th May 1969 - Ringo and Maureen, Peter Sellers and his wife, director Joe McGra th and producer Denis O'Dell and their wives were given a free trip to New York on the newly launched Queen Elizabeth II by Commonwealth United, the backers of The Magic Christian, as a reward for bringing in the film on time and under budget. In this clip Ringo and Sellers are seen dancing, then a brief interview 1:01
16 John in Freeport John and Yoko in Freeport - Brief clip. 25th May 1969 - Freeport is a city on the island of Grand Bahama. John and Yoko intended to hold another bed-in for peace at the Sheraton Oceanus Hotel but found it too hot there to stay in bed and wanted to go elsewhere. In this clip John is told that Air Canada will fly them and he breaks into song. 0:08

THE 'ET' BEATLES SPECIAL
ET's own Mary Hart had a stellar lineup of star interviews in 2009, but she admits
 that one really stood out.

"It was my time spent with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono,
" she says. "I was thrilled."
This year marked the 45th anniversary of The Beatles' first appearance on the
"The Ed Sullivan Show," which is available on "The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit
" documentary DVD. All these years later, Mary has a very special memory.
"I've always said that Paul McCartney was the first interview I ever did at the
age of 13 over in Sweden because I talked my way backstage and met him," she recalls.

When asked by Paul if he was polite and pleasant during their interview, Mary says,
"You were actually amazing, polite and pleasant."
