EXTENDING THE CD-I SYSTEM
A number of options are available
to extend the basic functions of the
CD-I system. The use of the
features are completely dependent of the ap-
plication on your CD-I disc.
The CD-I system had been designed to work
with the following options.
A personal Memory Card can
be inserted in the MMC module. It con-
tains a battery back up memory
module, e.g for use as an extension of the
build-in NV-RAM, (Non-Volatile
Random Access Memory).
An RS-232-C connector block
will
extend the CD-I system with a
RS-232-C serial interface that
can be used to connect a modem, printer or
can be used as a port to another
device (application dependent).
The CD-I expansion module
CDI 182 with the
same exterior design
as the CD-I player and the
MMC module, provides full access to the video,
audio, text and data processing
capabilities of the CD-I MMC module.
