AUDIO AMPLIFIER: PHILIPS HF306 STEREO CONTROL
The HF306 is a stereo control pre-amplifier, at first build in 1962,
who needs an end amplifier to function. It's
an construction box, which you had
to build yourself with inclosed manual. I
bought it in 1965 to use
it, together with an HF303, for
guitarplaying. Lateron I've bought an
HF309 and construct a bass-
reflexbox with an 9710 AM speaker. It was satisfied
for playing the rhythm guitar in small dancings.
After that I've sold the HF309 with
bass reflexbox and the HF306 was
used for mono and
stereo
switching for taperecorders. The next guitar
amplifier became an 100 Watts Eko amplifier,
which looks
like a Fender amplifier.
There are 4 inputswitches to make a choise for radio tuner, taperecorder
and turntable with crystal- or mag-
neto-dynamic pickup, whereby correction is nearby R.I.A.A
characteristics. There are 4 different high- or
low tone-settings. Also an output
for alternate current available for the
End amplifiers. Modern, nor-
malized contact jacks (I.E.C) for turntables and
tuner; round jack (D.I.N) for taperecorders in- and output.
The amplifier has his own powersource. Hum potmeters for both
channels each. The athode tracer for the
e nd amplifiers is not critical with 200 ohm.
An output switch with 4 possibilities has
build in for several
mono- and stereo choises. Balance pot is partly with
resistance material, partly with silver, through that not
needed weakening.
